Jumeirah
Dubai's Districts

The Jumeirah district is located west of Dubai Creek and southwest of Bur Dubai, directly on the Persian Gulf. Jumeirah is one of the most modern parts of the city and is also considered one of the most expensive residential areas of Dubai. In the past, fishermen, craftsmen and merchants were originally settled there. The two boulevards Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road run through the Jumeirah district. They are adorned with numerous modern high-rise buildings.

Sights in Jumeirah

Parallel to the beach runs the Jumeirah Road, also called Beach Road. There are a lot of shopping malls and shopping opportunities. The district is also famous for the Palm Jumeirah, an artificial palm island. On the palm island is the famous luxury hotel Atlantis. A great attraction on the Palm Jumeirah is the Aquaventure water park.

In addition, the famous Jumeirah Beach – which stretches over a length of 20 kilometers – attracts a lot of vacationers and locals for swimming, walking and sports. Along Jumeirah Beach are numerous well-known hotels such as the unofficial 7-star Burj al Arab Hotel, the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Madinat Jumeirah. But also the Jumeirah Mosque and Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif (summer residence of the Sheikh) are very popular sights in Dubai among vacationers.
